We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Auckland engineering and sheet metal fabrication business looking for an Engineering Workshop Supervisor to join their close-knit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabricator or engineer who's ready to step into a leadership role. You'll work closely with the Managing Director to keep projects running smoothly while leading a small team to deliver quality workmanship safely and on time.

About the Role
As the Engineering Workshop Supervisor, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a small workshop team
- Planning daily workflow and allocating jobs
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Ensuring fabrication work meets quality and customer expectations
- Providing hands-on support and technical guidance where required
- Promoting safe work practices and maintaining Health & Safety standards
- Coordinating materials, equipment and workshop resources
- Monitoring project progress and communicating with the Managing Director
- Maintaining workshop organisation, tools and equipment
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading by example and takes pride in producing quality work.
You'll ideally have:
- 5-10 years' experience in engineering, fabrication or sheet metal
- A trade qualification in Engineering, Fabrication or Sheet Metal (preferred)
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience leading, mentoring or supervising others (formal or informal)
- A practical, organised and hands-on approach
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety
- A Full New Zealand Driver Licence
