Traffic Management Officer (TMO) – Christchurch

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Traffic Management Officer (TMO) to join our team in Christchurch. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic around work sites, events, and infrastructure projects across the Canterbury region.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and contributing to public safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage temporary traffic management plans (TMPs)
• Operate signage, barriers, and cones to control traffic flow
• Communicate effectively with site teams and the public
• Ensure compliance with NZTA and COPTTM standards
• Maintain safety and professionalism at all times

• Current  TMO or STMS Cat A/B/C certification (or willingness to train)
• Valid  Class 1 or Class 2 NZ Driver’s Licence
• Ability to read and interpret traffic management plans
• Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable transport and punctuality

• Hourly rate + night shift allowances + 8% Leave pay
