Our client is an established and reputable commercial construction company with a strong pipeline of projects ranging from $1m-100m. With continued growth and several major builds commencing this year, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a key role in driving project financial performance and contributing to ongoing business success.
About the Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the cost management function across multiple commercial projects, providing accurate financial reporting, procurement leadership, and strategic commercial guidance. You will play an active leadership role within the wider commercial team, supporting the development of junior QS staff and contributing to continuous improvement across processes and systems. In this role, you will also take on selected Commercial Manager responsibilities, with clear scope to grow into a broader commercial leadership position. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on budget while upholding exceptional quality and contractual compliance.
About You
You will bring strong commercial construction experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the confidence to lead cost and contract matters independently. You enjoy being part of a collaborative team and contributing to company‑wide improvements.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 10+ years’ Leadership experience in NZ commercial construction
- Strong technical knowledge including NZ Standard contracts
- Proven experience managing procurement, variations, and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
