A reputable New Zealand main contractor with a consistent pipeline of commercial work is looking to appoint an experienced Programme Planner to strengthen its pre-construction and delivery capability. This Auckland-based position will play a critical role across tender programming and live project planning. Proven New Zealand main contractor experience is essential.
About the Role
As Programme Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed construction programmes across multiple commercial projects. You will work closely with project delivery teams and senior leadership to ensure programmes are realistic, well-structured, and aligned with project objectives.
A core part of this role includes pre-construction and tender programming, working alongside estimating and bid teams to produce competitive and accurate tender programmes.
Key responsibilities include
- Developing detailed construction programmes using Candy and Primavera P6
- Leading pre-construction and tender programming processes
- Preparing methodology-driven tender programmes and staging plans
- Updating and managing live project programmes
- Identifying critical path activities and project risks
- Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and commercial teams
- Reporting on progress, delays, and programme performance
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Programme Planner within the New Zealand construction market
- Strong background in pre-construction and tender programming
- Advanced working knowledge of Candy and Primavera P6
- Experience on medium to large-scale commercial projects
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with delivery teams
