An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced operational leader to join the Construction division of a well-established national organisation.
Reporting directly to the National Manager, this pivotal leadership role will oversee a team of approximately eight Project Managers, ensuring the successful delivery of multiple contracts while driving operational performance, commercial outcomes and customer satisfaction.
This is a genuine second-in-command position, providing both strategic input and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio.
The Opportunity
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing Project Managers, while ensuring operational excellence across all areas of service delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and mentoring a team of Project Managers.
- Driving operational performance, productivity and service delivery outcomes.
- Supporting the National Manager in the execution of business strategy and growth initiatives.
- Ensuring financial targets, budgets and profitability objectives are achieved.
- Maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Developing leadership capability throughout the operational team.
- Managing risk while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and excellence.
To be successful, you'll be a proven people leader with a strong operational background and the ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
You will bring:
- Previous experience leading leaders, including Project Managers or similar operational management roles.
- Strong commercial and financial management capability.
- Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of health, safety and quality management practices.
- The ability to influence, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A senior leadership position with significant influence and scope.
