Our client, a leading manufacturer in the plastics industry in the sunny Top of the South, is expanding its engineering team. Committed to quality and customer satisfaction, they seek a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with ideally expertise in injection or blow moulding processes and strong welding skills.
What is the role about?
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring machinery's optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned tradesperson with a background in injection or blow moulding, possessing excellent welding skills. A current Electral Service Technical (EST) registration with the EWRB is preferred, but not a dealbreaker.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on plastic manufacturing/moulding machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, minimizing downtime.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance machine efficiency.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all maintenance activities.
- Ideally trades qualified as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the plastics industry.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
