We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well‑established meat and offal processing operation on the West Coast for two key positions within their operation: Floor Manager / Staff Coordinator and 2IC Plant Operator. Both roles are essential to supporting daily production and maintaining a safe, efficient, and community‑focused workplace.
About the roles
Floor Manager / HR Support
This role is responsible for coordinating day‑to‑day activity on the processing floor and ensuring staffing levels meet operational requirements. It suits someone who is organised, confident working with people, and able to adapt to the needs of a busy production environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Organising and rostering workers on a daily basis
- Supporting staff with training, onboarding, and general workplace queries
- Monitoring workflow and assisting with floor coordination
- Helping maintain a safe, efficient, and well‑run processing environment
- Building strong working relationships across the team
- Forklift licence
- Experience in meat processing, manufacturing, or similar environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physical environment
- A practical, supportive approach to working with people
- Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to safety
- Exposure to HR, rostering, or staff coordination
The 2IC Plant Operator supports the Floor Manager and plays a key role in overseeing operators while also carrying out hands‑on processing work. This position requires strong initiative, technical aptitude, and the ability to learn plant operations quickly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Floor Manager with daily operational oversight
- Providing guidance to other operators while working alongside them
- Learning to run both plant and machinery confidently and efficiently
- Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving operational issues
- Operating processing equipment safely and effectively
- Maintaining hygiene, safety, and production standards
- Forklift licence
- Strong experience in meat processing or similar industrial work
- Previous supervisory or 2IC experience
- Strong mechanical or troubleshooting aptitude
- Confidence working in a physical, fast‑paced environment
- Experience in meat processing, manufacturing, or similar environments
