About the Role We are looking for skilled and experienced Fabricators to join our team. You will be responsible for cutting, assembling, and welding metal components for structural and commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision fabrication and has the necessary welding qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and weld steel components according to specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and fabrication notes
- Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with standards
- Work safely with rigging, lifting equipment, and on-site materials
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Proven experience as a Metal Fabricator / Welder
- Valid welding tickets (MIG/TIG/ARC) – must be current and recognized in New Zealand
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy steel components
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in fabrication and construction
- Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens, New Zealand Permanent Residents, New Zealand Residents, or Open Work Visa Holders without restrictions
- Attention to detail and precision in welding and assembly
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under supervision
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience - $32 to $35 per hour (depending on experience)
