We're seeking an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to oversee the safe, compliant, and efficient installation of electrical works on a large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage project based in Masterton. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on site, leading crews, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
About the Role
Based in Masterton, you'll take the lead in coordinating day-to-day electrical construction activities on a major renewable energy project. You'll be responsible for supervising electrical personnel, managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and project requirements, and acting as the key on-site contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of critical energy infrastructure while working as part of a highly experienced project team.
This position is field-based and may involve travel between project sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate electrical crews, subcontractors, apprentices, and labour-hire personnel
- Drive a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, hazard management, and compliance monitoring
- Oversee LV electrical installations, testing, commissioning, and certification
- Manage isolations, switching activities, and safe work procedures
- Review and approve site documentation, daily reports, timesheets, and testing records
- Liaise with clients, inspectors, network operators, engineers, and project management teams
- Monitor programme delivery, productivity, quality, and resource requirements
- Support tendering and pre-construction activities by providing practical construction input and risk assessments
- Current EWRB Electrician Registration and Practising Licence
- Mains Parallel Generation Systems endorsement
- Supervision endorsement
- Strong experience supervising electrical teams on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, solar, or renewable energy projects
- Excellent knowledge of NZ electrical regulations, standards, and safe work practices
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Site Safe Passport or equivalent
- Solar PV and battery storage project experience
- EWP, Working at Heights, Telehandler, or other plant operating certifications
