A well-established main contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their Auckland business, overseeing the commercial performance of major projects and leading a team of Quantity Surveyors across a strong pipeline of work. About the Role
As Commercial Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the financial, contractual, and commercial management of projects within the business unit. You will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered profitably, risks are managed, and commercial controls are maintained to a high standard. You will also provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to Quantity Surveying teams.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 10 years’ experience within the New Zealand construction market, with a strong background working for a main contractor
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial leadership role
- Strong understanding of contract administration, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting on complex construction projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage Quantity Surveying teams
- Excellent commercial judgement with the ability to identify risk, opportunity, and improvement initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging clients, consultants, subcontractors, and senior leadership
- Senior leadership role within a well-established main contracting business
- Secure pipeline of ongoing Auckland-based projects
- High level of autonomy and influence over commercial outcomes
