We're currently recruiting for a leading multi-trade contractor with more than 40 years of history delivering commercial, residential, and specialist trade projects. Known for quality workmanship, innovative systems, and a team-first culture, they’re now seeking a Certifying Plumber/Gasfitter/Drainlayer to join their permanent team in Palmerston North.

About the Role: As a Certifying Plumber/Gasfitter/Drainlayer, you’ll work across commercial and residential sites, handling everything from new installations to servicing and maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role where your certifications and problem-solving skills will be put to great use.

You'll work with modern systems and tech (e.g., SimPRO), alongside a supportive team, in a company that values professionalism, growth, and long-term commitment.

What You’ll Be Doing:


Plumbing

  • New installations, renovations, and maintenance
  • Hot water systems, gas central heating, solid fuel fires
  • Commercial fit-outs, boilers, and multi-room systems
  • Inspecting, testing, certifying and troubleshooting plumbing systems
Gasfitting
  • Natural Gas and LPG systems
  • Hot water and heating installations
  • Commercial appliance installation and servicing
  • Testing and certifying all work to compliance standards
Drainlaying
  • New builds, trenching, repairs and commercial drainage
  • Reading plans, laying to spec, supervising site drainage work
  • Certifying installations and advising on improvements
  • Ensuring all work meets NZ building and drainage codes
Customer & Team Interaction
  • Represent the company with professionalism onsite
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, clients, and apprentices
  • Support estimating and quoting with accurate technical input
  • Take ownership of quality, compliance, and site productivity
What We’re Looking For:
  • NZ Certifying Licenses in Plumbing, Gasfitting, and Drainlaying (required)
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in the field
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Tech-savvy (SimPRO or similar)
  • Site Safe, Confined Spaces, Working at Heights (or willing to obtain)
  • Must be a New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Resident

PPE and safety protocols are strictly enforced. Daily use of Site App Pro and toolbox meetings are part of the safety-first approach.
