Our client is a mid-sized, family-owned business with a proven track record in structural steelwork fabrication, and erection.
With significant level of demand for their services in Wellington they are now expanding their team delivering new build structures and seismic upgrade projects in the capital in partnership with some of New Zealand's leading Main Contractors.
This site-based leadership role requires a talented Foreman / Supervisor who is confident in their ability to run multiple projects on-site, ensuring progress is maintained and work is delivered to high quality levels in a safe manner.
Responsibilities:
Provide hands on leadership to a team of structural steel installers
Co-ordinate with a range of subcontractors to ensure project deliverables are met
Maintain a constant focus on Health and Safety
Interact professionally with the Client
Manage documentation
Encourage and mentor less experienced colleagues
Skills and experience required:
10 years + experience in the Structural Steel industry and experience with large scale steel erection, ideally 350 tonne plus projects
Formal Trade or Structural qualification
Certified to work at heights, with MEWP ticket
Site Safe
Ability to understand construction drawings and specification
Computer literacy
Physically fit and drug free
New Zealand working rights essential
Ability to read and interpret general assembly drawings, and able to report and liaise with clients
MIG and Stick welding tickets
