Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

On offer is a workshop based role for a global brand, an industry leader in their field. In this role you will be carrying out various scheduled preventative maintenance checks, report failures, follow pre-set task instructions and use your fault finding skills to perform and repair corrective maintenance on Wellington's trains. You will be entrusted to carry out overhauls of a fleet of trains, working on bogies, trollies, wheels and brakes along with other external components to client’s high standards to meet the demands of the public once back in service.

Our client is an industry leader, a global brand, specializing in rolling stock overhauls, maintenance and servicing of passenger trains, locomotives and track plant. They are based north of Wellington with plenty of free parking available. In Wellington they have a small, close-knit team with a fantastic company culture.

The Requirements:

To be considered for this role you will be from a Mechanical Fitter background, ideally from Rolling Stock, Aerospace, Aviation or a similar engineering role.

·      Level 4 or 5 trade qualification (or NZQA recognised qualifications for overseas applicants) within a mechanical discipline

·      Ability to analyse and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic controls and electrical circuit diagrams

·      Diagnostic and fault finding capabilities preferred

·      Minimum of 12 months prior experience in a mechanical maintenance environment

·      Adherence to health and safety compliance and regulations in a safety critical environment

·      Proven experience of relevant engineering specifications, standards and practices
