Our client is looking for a hands-on Diesel Mechanic for their busy Workshop to join ASAP, we are looking for experienced & qualified mechanic to undertake all routine service and repair work on heavy diesel trucks.

About the role & duties:

As a Mechanic Technician you will be reporting directly to the company’s Service manager, being responsible for servicing heavy vehicles, your duties will include:
  1. To undertake all routine service and repair work on vehicles in a manner which:
    • Achieving prompt and accurate diagnosis of vehicle faults and service needs
    • Achieving a “fix it right the first time” policy
    • Delivering great level of customer satisfaction required to achieve our service customer retention standards
  2. To accurately account for all available hours each day, both productive and unproductive with an emphasis on maximising productive time
  3. Undertake all communications as required with customers only in conjunction with the owner and in a manner, which contributes to the achievement of customer satisfaction
  4. To be proactive in securing incremental business

  • Scania and Isuzu Truck knowledge is preferred however experience across all makes and models will be considered, and training is provided
  • Diagnostic experience
  • Must have ability to take ownership for any task assigned to them and work well with others
  • Be available to work rostered Saturday’s and late shifts
  • Be confident to cover rostered after hours on call breakdown service one in every 4 weeks

  • Applicants must hold Trade Certificate or Advanced Trade Certificate or Level Four on the national framework
  • Applicants must have an adequate tool kit to perform duties required
  • Applicants must hold a current NZ Drivers licence. Holding a Class 5 endorsement will work to an applicant’s advantage
