Reports to: Finance manager
Location: Penrose, Auckland
Hours: 40 hours per week. The ordinary hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8.00am-4.45pm
Full time, permanent role. Flexible with WFH. 

Purpose of Position
The position is responsible for full assistant accountant function. The finance manager will be able to count on you to support him in his role, enabling the smooth running of the finance and admin department.

This company is a family business that began many years ago in 1980. They specialize good old-fashioned specialty smoked meat products and bacons and have a brand-new state of the art facility in Auckland.
About the role
To ensure all accounts are maintained accurately, and inwards cashflow is maximised. To apply strong customer service to all external communications. Tasks include:
  • Process weekly payroll, maintain employee register
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining inventory SKUs in system
  • Process purchase orders, receipt and supplier invoices
  • Monthly stocktake and closing stock adjusting journals
  • Daily stock report, monthly purchase order report
  • Company credit cards, staff expense claims
  • All accounts reconciliations and discrepancy investigation
  • Maintain creditor and supplier details
  • Supplier payment runs and statement reconciliation
  • Assist with budget and cost analysis
  • Provide ongoing support to the Finance Manager where required
  • Other general account tasks such as responding to email queries and general admin
Business/Technical Skills
  • A minimum of 2 years accounting experience within a manufacturing industry
  • Strong attention to details and a sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience in AR/AP, bank reconciliation and accounting system.
  • MYOB ADVANCED ERP system experience would be advantage
  • Strong Excel skills. As a minimum VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables.
  • A Tertiary qualification is required
