Supporting The Community

Tech 5 has always had a commitment to supporting the community and we make donations to the following organisations.

We are proud to be sponsors of Touch New Zealand. One of the highlights of our partnership is that, through the sponsorship programme, referees from all around the country are able to participate at a reduced cost – this is a huge benefit to the referee group and has resulted in an increase in participation numbers.  This means a larger referee pool which is of a direct benefit to the game and brings with it a wealth of professionalism, quality, continuity and sportsmanship.

One of Tech 5’s core values is supporting the communities that we live and work in, and Touch is at the heart of many communities throughout New Zealand.

Jonseys Youth Foundation

We are proud to be sponsors of Jonesy’s Youth Foundation. The Foundation is using rugby as a vehicle to build a strong confident youth culture in New Zealand.

Jonesy’s Youth Foundation emphasis is on supporting children who have lost a parent / guardian and developing their life skills, building character and enriching their lives through attitude, confidence and inspiration and by doing this we will raise a new generation of young rugby players.

For 40 years, ARHT has worked to ensure that the communities of the greater Auckland region have the security of a professional, efficient, emergency air ambulance, search and rescue service available to them. The Auckland based Westpac Rescue Helicopter is staffed full-time by a highly experienced flight crew consisting of pilots, paramedics and crewmen, and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Since inception, the service has performed many thousands of rescues and is internationally recognised for its pioneering work in saving lives. ARHT’s outstanding contribution was recognised by the world “Association of Aeromedical Services” in 2000 when we were presented with an award for 10,000 accident free missions. The primary aim of the Trust is to provide and develop a highly efficient aero medical service for the benefit of the community at large.

Dine Aid

Dineaid is a charitable initiative supporting the City Mission Food Banks in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Dineaid was started over 5 years ago by a small group of caring New Zealand restaurateurs to give a helping hand to New Zealanders in need by adding a voluntary donation per table to the restaurant bill to be paid by the bill payer.

Dineaid campaign this year will be raising funds for the City Mission Food Banks that distribute food to approximately 140 locations throughout New Zealand.

Kids Foundation

Kids Foundation provides critical financial and emotional support to children with (P.I.D) primary immune deficiencies and children needing bone marrow, liver and bowel transplants. Many children require monthly or weekly treatments at hospital (eg blood infusions) and the children who have received transplants can be hospitalised for many months.

Kids Foundation is an “at the coalface” organisation offering face to face practical, emotional and financial support, as well as the delivery of up to date medical information on P.I.D and organ transplants.

Rugby Foundation

The NZ Rugby Foundation supports catastrophically injured rugby players financially and emotionally through fund raising and other activities.

The foundation works closely with the injured person and their families to bridge the gap between before and after quality of life with lifestyle training, financial grants and vocational training. They also work with the NZ Rugby Union to communicate the message of safety first.

Life Flight

Life Flight provides a 24/7 nationwide air ambulance service transporting critically ill patients who urgently require specialist medical care often only available in one or two hospitals in New Zealand.

The air ambulance service is like a flying intensive care ward staffed by specialist flight nurses, doctors and crew. Life Flight coordinates a full bed-to-bed service, taking care of all logistics and providing the aircraft, equipment and expert medical teams.

Cure Kids

At Cure Kids, our purpose is simple: every single day, our researchers are driven to find the cures for life-threatening illnesses that affect many of our children. We focus on raising funds so that vital medical research can continue until our researchers find the cures our kids need. Put simply, we fund the cures, they find the cures.

Researchers find cures for conditions like childhood cancers, heart diseases, Cystic Fibrosis, Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI) asthma, and many more, life-threatening illnesses that mean the children affected often miss out on normal childhood.
