Supporting The Community
Tech 5 has always had a commitment to supporting the community and we make donations to the following organisations.
AUCKLAND RESCUE HELICOPTER TRUST – www.rescuehelicopter.org.nz
For 40 years, ARHT has worked to ensure that the communities of the greater Auckland region have the security of a professional, efficient, emergency air ambulance, search and rescue service available to them. The Auckland based Westpac Rescue Helicopter is staffed full-time by a highly experienced flight crew consisting of pilots, paramedics and crewmen, and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Since inception, the service has performed many thousands of rescues and is internationally recognised for its pioneering work in saving lives. ARHT’s outstanding contribution was recognised by the world “Association of Aeromedical Services” in 2000 when we were presented with an award for 10,000 accident free missions. The primary aim of the Trust is to provide and develop a highly efficient aero medical service for the benefit of the community at large.
DINEAID – www.dineaid.org.nz
Dineaid is a charitable initiative supporting the City Mission Food Banks in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Dineaid was started over 5 years ago by a small group of caring New Zealand restaurateurs to give a helping hand to New Zealanders in need by adding a voluntary donation per table to the restaurant bill to be paid by the bill payer.
Dineaid campaign this year will be raising funds for the City Mission Food Banks that distribute food to approximately 140 locations throughout New Zealand.
KIDS FOUNDATION – www.idfnz.org.nz
Kids Foundation provides critical financial and emotional support to children with (P.I.D) primary immune deficiencies and children needing bone marrow, liver and bowel transplants. Many children require monthly or weekly treatments at hospital (eg blood infusions) and the children who have received transplants can be hospitalised for many months.
Kids Foundation is an “at the coalface” organisation offering face to face practical, emotional and financial support, as well as the delivery of up to date medical information on P.I.D and organ transplants.
NZ RUGBY FOUNDATION – www.rugbyfoundation.com
The foundation works closely with the injured person and their families to bridge the gap between before and after quality of life with lifestyle training, financial grants and vocational training. They also work with the NZ Rugby Union to communicate the message of safety first.
LIFE FLIGHT TRUST – www.lifeflight.org.nz
Life Flight provides a 24/7 nationwide air ambulance service transporting critically ill patients who urgently require specialist medical care often only available in one or two hospitals in New Zealand.
The air ambulance service is like a flying intensive care ward staffed by specialist flight nurses, doctors and crew. Life Flight coordinates a full bed-to-bed service, taking care of all logistics and providing the aircraft, equipment and expert medical teams.
CURE KIDS – www.curekids.org.nz
At Cure Kids, our purpose is simple: every single day, our researchers are driven to find the cures for life-threatening illnesses that affect many of our children. We focus on raising funds so that vital medical research can continue until our researchers find the cures our kids need. Put simply, we fund the cures, they find the cures.
Researchers find cures for conditions like childhood cancers, heart diseases, Cystic Fibrosis, Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI) asthma, and many more, life-threatening illnesses that mean the children affected often miss out on normal childhood.
