Auckland

Tech 5 John Wyatt

I take an active role in ensuring Tech 5 sets and achieves its vision and remains at the technological forefront of the recruitment industry. I ensure that we continue to deliver service levels above client and candidate expectation, via a committed and friendly team.

My business interests vary across Recruitment, Property and Construction. I have an in depth understanding of the Property Industry and have been involved in residential and commercial property since 1995. My property and construction experience is of benefit to my Directorship roles with Tech 5 and Griffiths Civil Build (Earthquake remedial work and Cell Phone Tower Construction).

I cut my teeth in the financial services industry 1981-1995 where I was involved in, international finance, risk management, IT product development, marketing and operational and relationship management.

Tech 5 Ben Allen

Ben commenced his technical recruitment career in Switzerland. He has worked for multinational recruitment providers since 2001 and is a co-owner of Tech5 Recruitment Limited.

Prior to recruitment, Ben had a professional rugby career, playing both in NZ and France. At a bantam weight of 115kgs he wasn’t a ½ back, preferring to maul the ball from the front!

Ben delivers to his clients in very much a hands on capacity, with a supportive team around him to call on where necessary.

Brett Bothma

Brett commenced his recruitment career at the backend of 1999 with a medium sized agency in London. In 2006 Brett was recruited by a multinational organisation to head up their Trades and Labour division in Auckland. He specialised in temporary recruitment for the commercial and residential sector and then moved into the civil trades sector.

Over the years Brett has recruited some very difficult roles for some of the biggest infrastructure projects and has a passion for the industry. He has 13 years’ experience in the trades and labour industry and knows what his client are looking for be it skills or personality. He prides himself on delivery and building professional relationships.

Simon McGrath

With over 20 years of sales experience and having run his own successful business, Simon has built up a depth of knowledge and awareness of  issues typically faced by business owners.

This knowledge enables Simon to not only have insight into underlying business problems (labour related or otherwise), but also lend feasible solutions too.

During his recruitment career, Simon has been able to identify the needs of his clients and satisfy the needs of job seekers, ultimately delivering to the expectations of each.

It is with these attributes that Simon has been able to assist in getting the ideal candidates onto Tech 5 client sites, ensuring projects have come in on time, and importantly, within budget.

Leanne Simpson Tech 5 Team

Leanne Simpson

BUSINESS MANAGER

Leanne commenced her recruitment career in 2001 with a multinational organisation in London. In 2002 Leanne was promoted to head up one of their Specialist Brands within the Railway sector. Leanne specialised in temporary recruitment for the largest Train Operating Companies in the UK and specialised in a variety of positions from front facing customer service to Senior Management.

Leanne then joined a specialist agency as the Associate Director in 2008. She was hugely successful growing the business to over 400 temporary associates working weekly and winning contracts in value of over $6.5 million.

Leanne’s strengths include the ability to work under pressure and develop long-term relationships with clients and candidates, Leanne believes that hard work and going the extra mile is the way to success.

Leanne moved to New Zealand from the UK and is enjoying the kiwi way of living, including exploring New Zealand, outdoor activities and going to the gym.

Sommer Browne Tech 5 Team

Sommer Browne

SENIOR RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Specialising for the last 7 years in agency recruitment, Sommer’s experience covers a number of areas but her main focus and passion lies within the construction industry. Sommer’s ability to understand business requirements has led her to become recognised by both clients and candidates as an expert in her field. The basis of her work is to provide a superior service, done by incorporating values such as honesty and ethics, combined with thorough recruitment processes.

With a background in the full management of up to 45 temporary workers, and also a wide range of permanent recruitment, Sommer is well-established and adds great value to Tech 5 Recruitment.

Outside of work, Sommer enjoys watching live music, cooking for friends and loves to travel.

Katerina Sundquist

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

Katerina is originally from the US and brings experience working in a non-profit organisation which focused on supporting the tutoring and pre-apprenticeship program in the trades. She also brings recruitment experience here in New Zealand, both of which have allowed her to thrive in fast-paced environments, support a diverse range of people to succeed, and improve the candidate experience.

Moving recently to New Zealand and having fallen in love with the country, she is driven to merge her prior unique experiences to bring her passion of people to Tech 5 Recruitment.

Katerina lived in South America for three years, and enjoys traveling, live music, playing sports, and cooking vegetarian food.

Kate Brookes Tech 5 Team

Kate Brooks

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

Kate commenced her working career in customer service and hospitality and, over the years, has transitioned into administration and accounts work. This experience has given Kate the ability to work well with many people and in diverse roles. Now working in recruitment, this has allowed her to strengthen her abilities whilst putting everything she has learned so far to good use. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, from the University of Auckland, she brings to the role extensive experience, abilities and knowledge.

Kate has a young daughter and is very family-oriented. Outside of this, she enjoys diving and heading to the gym.

Tech 5 Kirsten Metzger

Kirsten Wyatt

SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

Kirsten commenced her IT career in SAP before taking a left turn into Sports Management in 2003. She helped build and run a well-known Touch Rugby company in the UK whose player database (many of whom are expat Kiwi IT workers) increases by the day.

Kirsten now oversees the operational management of Tech 5. With a keen eye for detail and a great ability to multi task Kirsten ensures that our operation receives the support it requires to deliver our range of client and candidate services. Outside of work Kirsten enjoys spending time with her family, referees touch from grass roots to national level and is a keen skier over the winter months.

Chrissy Miller

Chrissy Miller

GROUP BUSINESS AND HR, MANAGER

Chrissy has a strong background in operational management, marketing and business administration. Her attention to detail ensures Tech5 is humming along operationally and has the right structure in place to deliver a superior service to both its clients and candidates.

Chrissy positions the Tech 5 brand at the fore front of the market providing benefits for our clients such as attracting the best candidates possible through co-branding with Tech 5 in recruitment campaigns. It also means our jobs are highly visible so candidates can easily identify and apply for their ideal roles.

Prior to joining Tech 5 Chrissy worked within the medical, recruitment and marketing industry. Outside of work, Chrissy enjoys working out at the local gym, spending time with her family and walking on the beach.

Larissa Rush Tech 5 Team

Larissa Rush

GROUP GENERAL MANAGER

Larissa commenced her business career in banking in 1994. Since then she acquired a wide range of business skills having worked in FMCG, construction, professional services, pharmaceuticals and agricultural sectors.

Larissa’s experience spans across Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, Commercial and Information Technology. With a passion for IT and business improvement, she has led a number of successful system implementation projects. Holding two qualifications in Economics and Commerce, Larissa is a full member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

In Tech 5 she is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. Outside of work Larissa enjoys skiing, music and theatre, literature and art, and spending time with family and friends.

Irina Babanova tech 5 Team

Irina Babanova

COMPANY ACCOUNTANT

Originally from Russia, having moved to New Zealand in 2009, Irina has been working within the accounting industry for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Analysis and Auditing gained in Russia and a New Zealand Graduate Diploma in Professional Accountancy. Irina is a full member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Irina’s field of expertise is within financial accounting and taxation, enjoying her job and the challenges it brings. She believes in continuous education as a way to stimulate professional development, which is why her next study project is on its way!

Outside of work Irina loves outdoor sports, such as tramping and hiking, she enjoys exploring a most beautiful New Zealand and she is also a keen skier and a swimmer.

Sherry Wu Tech 5 Team

Sherry Wu

ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR

Sherry is a graduate from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Business Information Systems. She brings to Tech 5 Recruitment extensive experience in book-keeping and auditing, which has given her a solid understanding of accounting and office practices.

Sherry is committed to her work and takes full responsibility of the tasks that are presented to her. With an ambitious attitude and her ability to provide timely and productive accounts support over the group, she goes above and beyond.

Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, travelling around New Zealand, makeup artistry and photography. She also enjoys music, art and fashion.

Lisa Wooles Tech 5 Team

Lisa Wooles

GROUP PAYROLL AND SYSTEMS ANALYST

Lisa began her administration career in 2008 working for her local council in the UK. After her move to New Zealand in 2010 she took some time out of Administration and worked part time in sales. Lisa has refocused her career and with the knowledge gained from working in the UK, combined with her additional local sales and administration experience, she now has a solid foundation to assist our Tech 5 sales, payroll team and temps that she comes in to contact with.

Her passion for working with people and providing quality service means that you will be well looked after by Lisa and our supporting Tech 5 team. Outside of work Lisa has a passion for sports, football in particular, and she is currently undertaking study in the field of I.T.

Asad Naseem Tech 5 Team

Asad Naseem

MARKETING COORDINATOR

Brought up in South Wales and born in England, Asad comes from a background in marketing with a diverse set of skills in the areas of social media and digital. Having graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Asad combines his skills in the areas of neuroscience, human and consumer behaviour with that of his experience in marketing and brings a dynamic approach to his role as Marketing Coordinator at Tech 5.

Asad is big on content creation, passionate about engaging people and connecting with them through an array of media and the stories that are told. Creating a landscape that’s both compelling and one that resonates with communities is a large part of what drives him and he champions these ideas at Tech 5.

When he’s not working, you’re likely to find Asad eating and cooking his way around the world, voice acting, producing music, YouTubing and documenting everything pop culture.

Courtenay Shannon

SENIOR CONSULTANT

Courtenay started her career with Tech 5 in our Christchurch office and has a passion for recruitment with over 8 years sales and customer service experience.

Courtenay now works as a Senior Consultant in the Tech 5 Wellington office. The growth she has experienced in the company shows just what Tech 5 can offer; there are no boundaries to hinder any opportunity you strive for.

Outside of work Courtenay is very family oriented and has a love affair with travel. Her goals in life are to tick off many of the countries on her bucket list as well as continue to reach her career goals.

BUSINESS MANAGER

Posetone grew up in Christchurch and completed a BEd in Physical Education at the University of Canterbury with the ambition was to pursue a career as a High School Physical Education Teacher. However after the atrocities of the Earthquake of 2011, Pose had decided that he wanted to play an integral part in the rebuilding of his home town. An opportunity presented itself in the recruitment game and Pose has never looked back.

A focus of Pose’s is to provide a fast and effective service to all Tech 5 clients. Pose aims to establish himself as not only a leading Consultant in Tech 5 but in the whole of Christchurch’s construction industry.

Lydia McIntosh

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Lydia grew up in Christchurch and completed her BA in Psychology at the University Of Canterbury. With experience in a variety of customer facing roles, she is now looking to develop and grow within the world of recruitment.

Lydia enjoys working in an unpredictable and challenging environment where no day is ever the same and is excited by the opportunities that Tech 5 have to offer in a fast-paced but rewarding environment.

In her spare time, Lydia enjoys socializing in the garden city, playing social sport and cooking.

Steve Gee Tech 5 Team

Steve Gee

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Steve brings to Tech 5 a background in construction account management, having been responsible for major projects across Canterbury and dealing with over 60 building companies concurrently. He enjoys building new business and the thrill of getting in front of clients, exploring every opportunity that arises and the challenges that all this brings.

Christchurch born and bred, and a classic Kiwi bloke, outside of work he enjoys touch, rugby and the outdoors. He played 12 years of Division 1 rugby for High School Old Boys and won a championship with the Canterbury ITM cup team in 2012. Now retired from Rugby he has instead taken up coaching of the Division 1 team.

Shane Nicoll Tech 5 Team

Shane Nicoll

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Shane was born and bred in Blenheim but has been based in Christchurch for the past twelve years, the last six of those being involved in the Christchurch rebuild – both on-site and as part of a sales & estimating team.

His experience has provided him with the skills that give his clients a fresh, honest and trustworthy approach and he enjoys the excitement the job brings whilst always looking after his clients.

In his spare time, you’ll find him playing touch or rugby. He has also been the coach of the Sydenham Division 2 team for the past four years, which has allowed the opportunity to give back to a game that has given plenty to him.

Sara Stephen Tech 5 Team

Sara Stephen

NATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

Having spent the last two years as Canterbury’s Regional Manager for The Drug Testing Company, Sara is now our National Health and Safety Manager and brings great experience to the role.

Sara was born in Wellington, with a background in military and health and safety, but spent most holidays with family in Canterbury and knows the area well.

Her interests include her two Border Collies, Yoga and, more recently, reading paperback books!

Katy Challis Tech 5 Team

Katy Challis

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

Katy brings to Tech 5 Recruitment a background in Customer Care and Accounts. She also studied Marketing at ARA Institute of Canterbury and is now further developing her knowledge in a supportive team environment.

Having grown up in Christchurch, Katy is well-travelled and enjoys learning new things wherever she goes. Katy’s strengths include her keen eye for detail, optimistic outlook and willingness to learn. She believes that great things never come from being too comfortable and continues to push herself because a little progress each day adds up to big results.

Outside of work, Katy enjoys dancing, water sports, summer BBQs with friends, and road trips.

Stephen Matheson Tech 5 Team

Stephen Matheson

GENERAL MANAGER - ASIA

Stephen joined Tech 5 in early 2013, coming from a successful construction company in Christchurch, and he quickly set up Tech 5’s Filipino model with Director Ben Allen. His expertise lies in international project recruitment and he is currently successfully managing the recruitment, compliance and jurisdictional challenges for Tech 5 in Manila. Tech 5 feels that, having a Kiwi on the ground in Manila, is a critical point of difference for us and the work he does, whilst certainly challenging, is very rewarding for the number of Filipino lives we have changed.

Stephen has been in the recruitment industry for well over a decade and he has worked all over the world, bringing experience, loyalty and resilience to our organisation.
