Auckland

Tech 5 John Wyatt

I take an active role in ensuring Tech 5 sets and achieves its vision and remains at the technological forefront of the recruitment industry. I ensure that we continue to deliver service levels above client and candidate expectation, via a committed and friendly team.

My business interests vary across Recruitment, Property and Construction. I have an in depth understanding of the Property Industry and have been involved in residential and commercial property since 1995. My property and construction experience is of benefit to my Directorship roles with Tech 5 and Griffiths Civil Build (Earthquake remedial work and Cell Phone Tower Construction).

I cut my teeth in the financial services industry 1981-1995 where I was involved in, international finance, risk management, IT product development, marketing and operational and relationship management.

Tech 5 Ben Allen

Ben commenced his technical recruitment career in Switzerland. He has worked for multinational recruitment providers since 2001 and is a co-owner of Tech5 Recruitment Limited.

Prior to recruitment, Ben had a professional rugby career, playing both in NZ and France. At a bantam weight of 115kgs he wasn’t a ½ back, preferring to maul the ball from the front!

Ben delivers to his clients in very much a hands on capacity, with a supportive team around him to call on where necessary.

Brett began his recruitment journey at the end of 1999, for a Trades and Labour specialist in London. Brett arrived in Auckland in 2005 and made a significant impact building the Trades and Labour team for a multinational agency. He then joined Tech 5 in 2011, progressing to a Shareholder and Director.

His passion and speciality has always been rooted in labour hire, with a particular focus on carpenters. Brett has recruited both temporary and permanent positions in several sectors, including: Construction, Civil Construction, Transport, Logistics, Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial.

Leanne Simpson Tech 5 Team

Leanne Simpson

BUSINESS MANAGER

Leanne commenced her recruitment career in 2001 with a multinational organisation in London. In 2002 Leanne was promoted to head up one of their Specialist Brands within the Railway sector. Leanne specialised in temporary recruitment for the largest Train Operating Companies in the UK and specialised in a variety of positions from front facing customer service to Senior Management.

Leanne then joined a specialist agency as the Associate Director in 2008. She was hugely successful growing the business to over 400 temporary associates working weekly and winning contracts in value of over $6.5 million.

Leanne’s strengths include the ability to work under pressure and develop long-term relationships with clients and candidates, Leanne believes that hard work and going the extra mile is the way to success.

Leanne moved to New Zealand from the UK and is enjoying the kiwi way of living, including exploring New Zealand, outdoor activities and going to the gym.

Simon McGrath

With over 20 years of sales experience and having run his own successful business, Simon has built up a depth of knowledge and awareness of  issues typically faced by business owners.

This knowledge enables Simon to not only have insight into underlying business problems (labour related or otherwise), but also lend feasible solutions too.

During his recruitment career, Simon has been able to identify the needs of his clients and satisfy the needs of job seekers, ultimately delivering to the expectations of each.

It is with these attributes that Simon has been able to assist in getting the ideal candidates onto Tech 5 client sites, ensuring projects have come in on time, and importantly, within budget.

Kate Brookes Tech 5 Team

Kate Hughes

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Kate commenced her working career in customer service and hospitality and, over the years, has transitioned into administration and accounts work. This experience has given Kate the ability to work well with many people and in diverse roles. Now working in recruitment, this has allowed her to strengthen her abilities whilst putting everything she has learned so far to good use. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, from the University of Auckland, she brings to the role extensive experience, abilities and knowledge.

Kate has two young daughters and is very family-oriented. Outside of this, she enjoys the outdoors, baking and reading a good book.

Carlos Jimenez

RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Carlos’passion for recruitment began in 2017, coming from a background in organising assessment centers. Here he undertook manufacturing and warehousing recruitment for over a year. What he enjoys most about the industry is the opportunity to meet a diverse range of people every day, which makes him a great fit for Tech 5!

Originally from Mexico, Carlos has worked in the USA, Canada and is now settled and based in New Zealand, and has been for over 4 years.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing sports, including American football, basketball and soccer. He also enjoys the barbecue, socialising, grabbing a beer or few after a busy week and making his killer tacos!

Hadis Barzandeh

RESOURCE
ADMINISTRATOR

Having worked in recruitment in several industries, Hadis not only brings a wealth of experience but also comes from a family who all work within the construction industry. 

Naturally, she is passionate about all things recruitment and enjoys meeting and interacting with new people. She believes there is an opportunity for everyone and she does her best to help candidates find that next best role!

Outside of work, Hadis considers herself an ambivert – depending on what mood you catch her in, that is. She likes the outdoors and an adventure, but also enjoys banter, snacks and catching up with friends.

Becky Morris-Jones

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

Originally from the UK, Becky moved to Australia after graduating from University with a Masters in Marketing. She worked in a variety of administration roles during her time in Australia and whilst at University, ultimately moving to New Zealand to experience the Kiwi way of life!

Since moving across the ditch, Becky has worked in In-House Recruitment but wanted to experience a more fast-paced and exciting environment, which brought her right here to Tech 5 Recruitment.

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, cooking and any outdoor activities, such as skiing.

Lisa Wooles Tech 5 Team

Lisa Wooles

GROUP PAYROLL AND SYSTEMS ANALYST

Lisa began her administration career in 2008 working for her local council in the UK. After her move to New Zealand in 2010 she took some time out of Administration and worked part time in sales. Lisa has refocused her career and with the knowledge gained from working in the UK, combined with her additional local sales and administration experience, she now has a solid foundation to assist our Tech 5 sales, payroll team and temps that she comes in to contact with.

Her passion for working with people and providing quality service means that you will be well looked after by Lisa and our supporting Tech 5 team. Outside of work Lisa has a passion for sports, football in particular, and she is currently undertaking study in the field of I.T.

Tech 5 Kirsten Metzger

Kirsten Wyatt

SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER

Kirsten commenced her IT career in SAP before taking a left turn into Sports Management in 2003. She helped build and run a well-known Touch Rugby company in the UK whose player database (many of whom are expat Kiwi IT workers) increases by the day.

Kirsten now oversees the operational management of Tech 5. With a keen eye for detail and a great ability to multi task Kirsten ensures that our operation receives the support it requires to deliver our range of client and candidate services. Outside of work Kirsten enjoys spending time with her family, referees touch from grass roots to national level and is a keen skier over the winter months.

Larissa Rush Tech 5 Team

Larissa Rush

GROUP GENERAL MANAGER

Larissa commenced her business career in banking in 1994. Since then she acquired a wide range of business skills having worked in FMCG, construction, professional services, pharmaceuticals and agricultural sectors.

Larissa’s experience spans across Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, Commercial and Information Technology. With a passion for IT and business improvement, she has led a number of successful system implementation projects. Holding two qualifications in Economics and Commerce, Larissa is a full member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

In Tech 5 she is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. Outside of work Larissa enjoys skiing, music and theatre, literature and art, and spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Elsdon

ADMINISTRATOR

Originally from the UK, Sarah moved to New Zealand in 2011 after falling in love with the people, diverse culture and incredible beauty of the country. With a strong background in administration – both sales and operational – and customer service, a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and a keen attention to detail she brings a wealth of experience to Tech 5 Recruitment. 

Prior to Tech 5, Sarah has worked in a variety of industries, including medical, telecommunications, property maintenance and R&D.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys travelling, crochet and spending time with family and friends.

Irina Babanova tech 5 Team

Irina Babanova

COMPANY ACCOUNTANT

Originally from Russia, having moved to New Zealand in 2009, Irina has been working within the accounting industry for 15 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Analysis and Auditing gained in Russia and a New Zealand Graduate Diploma in Professional Accountancy. Irina is a full member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Irina’s field of expertise is within financial accounting and taxation, enjoying her job and the challenges it brings. She believes in continuous education as a way to stimulate professional development, which is why her next study project is on its way!

Outside of work Irina loves outdoor sports, such as tramping and hiking, she enjoys exploring a most beautiful New Zealand and she is also a keen skier and a swimmer.

Sherry Wu Tech 5 Team

Sherry Wu

ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR

Sherry is a graduate from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Business Information Systems. She brings to Tech 5 Recruitment extensive experience in book-keeping and auditing, which has given her a solid understanding of accounting and office practices.

Sherry is committed to her work and takes full responsibility of the tasks that are presented to her. With an ambitious attitude and her ability to provide timely and productive accounts support over the group, she goes above and beyond.

Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, travelling around New Zealand, makeup artistry and photography. She also enjoys music, art and fashion.

Imogen Rogers

ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR

Imogen moved to New Zealand from England in 2009, having since graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analysis, Majoring in Accounting. Since graduation, she relocated to Auckland to pursue a career in Accounts Administration.

To Recruit I.T. / Tech 5, Imogen brings a keen eye to detail along with an efficient and timely work ethic. Imogen strives for completeness and accuracy in her work whilst aiming to surpass set standards.

In her spare time, Imogen enjoys gardening and spends much of her time at the beach enjoying the sun. As a nature-lover, Imogen also keeps a menagerie of budgies and fish at home.

Sofia Mitrega

PAYROLL
OFFICER

Originally from Poland, Sofia was raised in Germany and moved to New Zealand in 2016. 

She graduated from Technical University in Berlin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, ultimately pursuing her new career opportunities in NZ payroll.

To Tech 5, Sofia brings her exceptional technical skills, a fantastic work ethic and a positive and creative team spirit.

Outside of work, she enjoys surfing, yoga, pilates, travelling and reading. She can also speak German, Polish and a bit of French!

John Dustow

GROUP HR MANAGER

John comes to us with a wealth of knowledge in legislation through his time with the NZ Police and as the Senior Prosecutor for the Department of Corrections. He is a proven Employment Law Advocate with a phenomenal success rate in this field, leading our group HR and Health & Safety Teams in the process.

In his spare time, John was also part of the New Zealand Rugby National Referee Squad and currently works with them as a Sideline/Referee Manager for Super Rugby and International Tests. John is also currently one of the top Touch Rugby Referees in the World. He is supported by his beautiful family and loves a challenge.

Wellington

Jerome Stafford

SENIOR RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT

Originally from Belfast in Northern Ireland, Jerome brings to Tech 5 Recruitment extensive experience in the recruitment industry, spanning over 34 years, coming from a background in both residential and commercial Plumbing and Heating. He has spent over a decade nurturing and building robust, long-term relationships with clients and candidates in the Wellington market.

Always maintaining a strong background and focus in sales and customer service, he never fails to deliver the very best to everyone he works with.

Outside of work, Jerome enjoys spending time with his family, friends and even a spot of fishing.

Shanaye Scott

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

Originally from Kaiapoi, a small town outside of Christchurch, Shanaye comes from a background in customer service and quickly moved up into a supervising role in recruitment. 

After moving to Wellington and a few years in steady admin roles, she brings to Tech 5 great experience and resources for our Wellington branch.

Outside of work, Shanaye enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating food and spending time outdoors.

Nathan Durkin

BUSINESS MANAGER

Nathan is a progressive leader with a passion for developing high performance teams. With over 15 years of recruitment experience, Nathan truly cares about putting the right people into the right roles. In recent years he has become more focused on blue collar, trades and logistics recruitment.

In 2009, Nathan put his commercial ambitions on hold and pursued a career in community development. He spent 6 years as the CEO of the White Elephant Trust in Christchurch. In that time, he oversaw the provision of events and activities for more than 10,000 young people in the city. When the city was hit by a devastating quake in 2011, Nathan was an influential leader in the student volunteer army, a group of University students who activated more than 12,000 locals in a community delivered clean-up effort. This work led to multiple awards and a reception with Prince William! Nathan later went to Nepal to support their post disaster relief efforts.

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his daughter, Jasmine, playing video games and NBA basketball.

BUSINESS
MANAGER

Posetone grew up in Christchurch and completed a BEd in Physical Education at the University of Canterbury with the ambition was to pursue a career as a High School Physical Education Teacher. However after the atrocities of the Earthquake of 2011, Pose had decided that he wanted to play an integral part in the rebuilding of his home town. An opportunity presented itself in the recruitment game and Pose has never looked back.

A focus of Pose’s is to provide a fast and effective service to all Tech 5 clients. Pose aims to establish himself as not only a leading Consultant in Tech 5 but in the whole of Christchurch’s construction industry.

Katy Challis Tech 5 Team

Katy Challis

RESOURCE ADMINISTRATOR

Katy brings to Tech 5 Recruitment a background in Customer Care and Accounts. She also studied Marketing at ARA Institute of Canterbury and is now further developing her knowledge in a supportive team environment.

Having grown up in Christchurch, Katy is well-travelled and enjoys learning new things wherever she goes. Katy’s strengths include her keen eye for detail, optimistic outlook and willingness to learn. She believes that great things never come from being too comfortable and continues to push herself because a little progress each day adds up to big results.

Outside of work, Katy enjoys dancing, water sports, summer BBQs with friends, and road trips.

Megan Carrington

RESOURCE
ADMINISTRATOR

Megan grew up in Christchurch and brings to Tech 5 a background in Administration and Accounts, first entering the profession straight out of high school.

A motivated individual as well as a keen learner, she thrives off of working in the supportive team environment that we have here at Tech 5.

She is passionate about applying the skills she has developed over the years to her role in recruitment, and to pursue a career in the industry.

Megan also values her personal time which is often spent with family and friends. She also enjoys getting out and exploring the city of Christchurch, whether that be trying a new restaurant or mountain biking at Bottle Lake Forest.
